After an arduous work on the part of RACSA, ICE and the Government of Costa Rica, the service of Advanced Internet was finally launched to the market. This inaugural event was organized by the Hispanic-American Association of Research Centers and Telecommunications Companies (AHCIET for its abbreviation in Spanish) where its best features were displayed. The Melico Salazar Theater had the great honor of hosting such an important inauguration and was graced with the presence of the First Vice-President of the Republic of Costa Rica, Lineth Saborío, among several Ministers. The two following days, the forum gathered more than 400 entrepreneurs and professionals from various industries- both state-owned and private- at the Herradura Hotel, as well as more than 20 sponsoring companies, like Hostarica Corporation, in order to discuss world-wide technological tendencies such as Voice on IP, Wi-FI, WiMax and Network Security, among others.
